COMPLETE KENNEDY VARIETY SET, CIRCULATION STRIKES AND PROOFS
1964 MINT SET
Herein lies the problem with PCGS graded Kennedy varieties, some (most?) are not all that rare, so not all that expensive.
Attributing varieties cost as much, if not more than the coin is worth.
I sent in 3 through normal grading.....a DDO, QDO & D/D.
Grades came back MS64/63 & AU 58.
Still trying to decide whether or not to send the DDO & QDO for attributing.
Good luck in your quest.

I suspect what you say is true for most all series...not just the Kennedys...for common varieties in lower grades. I agree it does not make sense to submit coins for attribution where the combined cost of grading and attribution end up exceeding the market value of the coin. The key for the common varieties is obviously to find them in high enough grade to economically justify the attribution cost. A 1964-D FS-101 Kennedy in MS63 might be a losing proposition...the same coin in MS66 or MS67 is another story. I suppose which varieties are common...and their worth...are all in the eye of the beholder. We're willing to pay enough to cover the grading and attribution costs to fill any holes, or obtain any upgrades, for the Kennedy Variety Set in our sig line...
