I certainly didn't expect to see what will likely be a play of the year candidate in week 1. Then again, I'm not surprised the Bengals found a way to lose the game.
Panthers giving away 7 turnovers (and paying the price). Delhomme had 5 turnovers by himself!
I collect Vintage Cards, Commemorative Sets, and way too many vintage and modern player collections in Baseball (180 players), Football (175 players), and Basketball (87 players). Also have a Dallas Cowboy team collection.
Not that it was really a surprise, but the tipped pass that resulted in Denver beating the Bengals.
When I saw the play on ESPN highlights, my first thought was that now [even though it is only game one of the regular season instead of the playsoffs] Benglas fans know how the Browns fans feel about Denver ripping a victory out of the teeth of an Ohio pro football team [refer to "The Drive" by Elway in 1986? followed next year by "The Fumble" close to the goal line by the Brown's running back].
Now I suspect that ALL Ohio pro football fans will forever hate the Broncos.
While I didn't expect the Dolphins to begin week one as an NFL powerhouse, I was still surprised with Chad Pennington's lackluster passing performance. Pretty darn weak, if I may say sooooooooooo!

I promise that's not me. I sit at the 45 and about 30 rows up, so
But my surprise was how absolutely terrible Golic, Greeny, and Young were in the booth. It wasn't just bad color, play-by-play, and such... It was just.. Gah! Like watching paint dry while someone scratched their fingernails across a chalkboard.
So basically my kid won't be able to go to college, but at least I'll have a set where the three most expensive cards are of a player I despise ~ CDsNuts

Also impressive...Eagles and Titans.
2. I am surprised that it only took 2 quarters for Mcnadd to get hurt. It usually takes at least 4 games.

Chad Pennington did not attempt one pass over 10 yds, what's up with that? Was that by design or can he just not throw more than 10 yds?
Jets rookie QB

Hines ward fumbling.
Colts having 2 turnovers and allowing 100 yards + rushing and winning.
Houston looking dreadful in a game they technically should have been in.
Cutler looking more like Sexy Rexy than Elway, however his receivers stopped or made bad routes on 3 of his picks.

<< <i>Yeah, I had one surprised. I completely forgot how HOT Faith Hill is. When I saw her do the intro song to SNF, my tongue hit the floor. Wow.
