Okay, it would take an extraordinary event for me to make a post here about ... tennis. But I just read about Serena Williams losing to Kim Clijsters with the last two (2) points coming via a foot fault and a point penalty. The column says, "Williams then went over and said to the line judge: 'I didn't say I would kill you. Are you serious? Are you serious? I didn't say that.'" True, or not, that's crazy!

Serena was right, it wasn't even close to a foot fault. Where does a line person make that kind of loose call at such an important part of a semi-final match at the U.S. Open?
Really dumb!
Sorry that Serena "lost it", which cost her big time.
She did say her idol is John McEnroe!
"You must be kidding me"!!!

Her outburst didn't cost her the match, the match was practically already over. Kim was clearly outplaying Serena for the better part of the match. Serena's outburst was likely out of her frustration for getting outplayed by an unseeded opponent. Also, if you've followed Venus and Serena over the past decade, you'd know they are the biggest "sore losers" in tennis, perhaps in any sport. In the past whenever either would lose, their parents would always have an excuse "Venus had the flu last month and just still isn't herself", "Serena has a hamstring issue that we haven't disclosed until today, but that clearly played a major role in her loss. Otherwise...." They are never able to admit that their opponent was simply better. Over the years, Venus and Serena have unfortunately picked up their parents' poor sportsmanship.
