I have been e-mailing this guy since late Feb. early March about paying for the authentication fee to spence or psa/dna . He then tells me that if I buy it, I can do whatever I want with it.. I then said well, How about I have a second expert opinion on the authenticity of the ball and I will pay for the service. He tells me well if it passes authenticity process he will not sell for less than $30,000 . I then said okay let's do it... He responds back and says... No, I changed my mind only cash... I said well you sure are leaving thousands for me on the table! But wait, he tells me that is in fact authentic and shows a Coa from Sports cards plus?? What?? Did you just take that Coa and print a new one up yourself? What is this 1993 ? Geez....This would be a great badwax.net experiment...

Unusual Ball.... Wonder if Ruth vacationed in the North (Winnipeg, Fargo, Duluth, Sioux Falls, etc.)?
IMO Before Id even consider buying...... I would need to see more documentation from the original owner/family this came from. Its been sitting around for many years and should have more info attached to it about its origin.
The link above goes to a page with seven balls ranging in price from $12,500 all the way to $49,000. The ball in the craigslist ad appears to be of a quality equal to the balls listed for $25,000 to $39,000. The ball in question has a nice autograph, I just don't know if it's real or not. It looks good but I wouldn't buy it without knowing more information and it sounds like the seller isn't helpful. He has lowered his price quite a bit. MacGregor Goldsmith baseballs were around when Mr. Ruth was alive so it is possible he could have signed it.
