Do you have a tendency to collect cards based on what sport is in season???

I do. Baseball season=more baseball card interest....basketball season=more basketball card interest, etc... How about you?

Baseball only. I have tons of football from the early 90s, but I do not even know what's there. It's all stuff my kids collected when they were at that age.

You forgot: Hockey season= more baseball, basketball or football card interest.
  • Nope - only collect football - all year round. Speaking of which, Game 1 of 2009 season Pittsburgh vs. Titans is tonight.

Are you ready for some football?

  • Not me, Just baseball!
  • To the originator, that's an interesting question posed. My short answer is "yes, somewhat".

I collect baseball, football, and basketball. I'll buy baseball and football twelve months a year, but I'm only motivated to buy basketball if that sport is in-season, especially at NBA Playoff time.

Are there more cards for sale for a sport while that sport is in season? For example, are more FB for sale during it's short season of Sept., Oct., Nov., Dec., and Jan.?

Also, if the supply for sale rises to meet higher demand during those months, I wonder if the price points are the same then as they are during times of lower seasonal supply and commensurate lower demand?

Very funny that I happened across this thread, all week I been thinking about how I miss alot of my football cards that I sold during the Spring of tthis year. The cooler weather and Football in the air definately is bringing me back into having Football card fever..

I've been buying some new football recently. Probably get a box or 2 of Topps Chrome later today. Not sure if it's cause of the season or a lack of decent new baseball products

I mostly collect vintage, so it doesn't really matter to me what season it is. I have been more into football lately becasue I already have a lot of the baseball cards I want. I collect 70's graded basketball and hockey on occasion.
