If you wipe out 5 days for the National, and 1 day for Labor day, you're on day 39 today, so hopefully you're almost done.

I broke down and made a call to PSA about the submission. I agreed with your count, but the gal in CS said "looks like we are on day 44, I better notify operations" (I guess she wasn't counting the national). Gal said she would email ops and she said it looked like early/middle next week at the soonest.
Oh well!

<< <i>I'm waiting on a 59 card submission that arrived on July 27th, and was checked in on August 7th. >>
My grades came out today, and I took a bit of a beating. I submit 2005-present cards, so I usually get about 50% PSA 10's. The last order has 62%.
Today's had 32%, including a 5, 6, and 7. I check all the cards with a magnifying glass, so I wonder if some were damaged after they were shipped out.

I submitted one that arrived at PSA on 8/3, so I'm also getting a little antsy. I'm a recent member and was not aware of any time limit like you seem to be describing...what are the details?
Well, sounds like if you are next week, min should be the week or so after that if there is any logic to the madness there.

Each submission level as a maximum time frame, that it will take to get the cards graded.
Most bulk and monthly special submssions are 45 days. The more you pay per card, the less time PSA will take to grade it. At one time the quoted time frames were guanranteed by PSA. I belive that's changed and they just do there best to not pass the quoted time frame. half the submission are normally graded in half the time PSA quotes. The other half may run the entire number of quoted days.
Hang around long enough and you'll have this all figured out....

Bad idea. By calling like that your cards are going to be put in front of a grader before he wants to grade them, and your grades are going to suck because of it. Or at least that's been my experience. I don't believe any of the other superstitions re: grading-- don't send in multiple copies of the same card, put the poor condition cards in front of the better condition cards, etc etc-- but I do believe that calling CS invites disaster. And I speak from experience: I submitted almost nothing but oddball stuff for years, and as a result my mean time was (I think) far, far in excess of what anyone else here has experienced. It was almost unheard of for me to get an order back in less than 10 weeks, and every time I called to inquire the grades were terrible.
I currently own and reviewed several PSA 10 1982 Topps cards and most(not all) of the 1982 Topps cards I subbed were as good as the 10's I've got in my collection now... I can see a 9 here and there but getting 8's and even a 7???? Not one PSA 10 out of those cards makes me feel like they are letting the population reports dictate whether they give out a 10 or not when they can just as easily say a its a 9 instead.
This is frustrating, everywhere I look on my list beyond the 82 Topps, anything that was a low pop card was called a '9'...even the 3 1987 Topps Schmidts which were rediculously perfect and yet were called a '9' instead of a 10? the 1986's were the same way... who would send in a 1986 Sutton unless you thought it had a strong chance at a 10? ...nope PSA says it's evidently an 8???? But the same guy can pick 10's in 1988/1989 Fleer and anything newer then 2004.
The two cards that did get a 10 which actually surprised me were the 88 Fleer Carlton's. The fronts were super strong but that blue paper on the back is crap and gets torn on the edges super easy and I totally assumed I'd get 9's there and thought I'd only have half a chance for 10's...but got 10's on both of those.
So this shows that I can either call the heck out of the junk 1988 Fleer and can't see a dang thing on any other card that I think has a great chance for a 10 or.... perhaps PSA is letting the pop reports dictate whether someone gets the benefit of the doubt when it could go either way.
(sorry, fella's... I just don't feel like paying the amount of money we pay to have cards graded should only warrant a spin on the wheel of misfortune at PSA. The cards we send in should get the earned rating the card truly deserves and not something else just because the pop reports are saying there are no 10's of that card now)
