I'm thinking about a Rem.870 20g youth shotgun too. Don't know if the wife will think much of that one though. I am going to Remington Armorer's School for the 3rd time and they give us a cert to get a gun at employee pricing. If I don't get that for him then it's going to be a new Marine Magnum for me!

First having firearms when I was VERY young made me
a lifelong competent and safe shooter.

While I now regret having hunted for non-food purposes as
a young person, the firearm skills I learned always make me
feel secure and confident.

Same here. Last deer season, I gave my son my .243 that my dad bought for me when I was 10. We were actually supposed to go to the rifle range today but got busy with work stuff. Maybe next weekend.

Teach them to respect firearms, and teach them how to safetly handle them (under close scutiny early) and you will be forever rewarded with a safe, conscience young person, who will grow into a responsible adult.
