I thought this George VI Penny had strong claims to MS 66

Obviously PCGS didn't agree.

I guess the rim nicks did it in but maybe the color will add some value to it...

1800's copper in PCGS 66 is a really tough proposition right now. That's a lovely piece regardless of whether or not it merits a 66.

This post reminds me of one on the US Coin Forum asking whether the technical grade is more important than eye appeal. This is one case where I wouldn't let any disappointment hang around long.

That coin has massive eye appeal!

A real nice example, regardless of what any TPG thinks.

I think it's a lovely piece, Geo. IV copper is tough in 65 or 66, I'd be happy to have picked that one up.
