no problem, I think the 600dpi with the contrast settings down just a tad is your best bet.. The higher contrast brings out the red on the flip but really hurts the other colors so, just do one more scan with the contrast just a little lower please
your scans are to bright..I think you need to bring either the contrast down or the brightness. The yount and aaron are not THAT orange..I think you tried to get the red in the flips which off set the other colors in the cards...
I would take the DPI at 300 and contrast at +5, brightness +2
I like the Epson Perfection v500, or the cannon scanners..they seem to be the best for getting perfect scans.. You will need to either, se the scanner so the colors are more vibrant or the snow is out, it seems you can't do both no matter the settings its either one or the other..
So, as one poster wrote, "you can't get good scans with an all-in-one". Is that true? Mike, I also have a very hard time getting good scans... especially with SGC slabs. I haven't fooled with my scanner at all as far as settings go. It's an HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One.
I like it, but I cant seem to get it to resize the pictures once I have scanned them. For example lets say I scan 1 card. It is huge I dont know how to resize the picture to lets say the actual size of the card.
I scan at 150 or 200 DPI, then I save the image and open up the gigantic scan in MSPaint.
On the MSPaint toolbar I click on "Image" then I click on "Stretch/Skew".
Then I change the horizontal and vertical percentages. Resizing to 60% and 60% works well for me when I scan at 150 DPI, but if you are doing 300 DPI or more you will need lower percentages to make the finished scan smaller.
Keep using trial and error with the percentages until you hit one that works best for the DPI you used.
Susor just purchased my '64 Runnels PSA 8.5 that is 1 of 3 w/ only 2 9s. I'm sure he'll "jazz" it up on eBay with (1) a better scan than I and (2) advertising it as the 12th most difficult card to find in 9 in the '64 set....LOL
