After looking though David Akers 1975 Book on Gold Dollars for the umpteenth time...I decided to take a new image of my 55-O and 59-C and digitally take them into black and white.

Nope. I got my wet plate chemistry in order....next step is a tintype! Pulled a few plates yesterday of some of my Dads old engines....

The only reason there were black and white coin photos last century was cost IMO.

The lead slugs in the OP look lifeless don't they?
