When has one of these sold? Has anyone even seen one? PSA 8 1956 Mantle White Back

White Back PSA 8 1956 Mantle. I have never even heard of one for sale. Did anyone see one at the national? I do not know what the pop report says; but it doesn't matter how many they say there are---none come up for sale. Anyone have any info on this card?

Mickey I've never seen one, then again I never looked either. It is however in the Mantle registry set.

Guys like Bishop, Griffens and Bobbscards would know this answer, maybe change the title so people know what you are asking?

I think I just found my answer in the pop report. They are rare. Did I say "RARE". WOW.

I looked in registry and 707 has a PSA 8. I wonder what the price of that is? 10 million delivered.

There's more 8 grades in holders without the back color identified. Last 8 white back sold in Goodwin May of last year for $5538. There's at least one 9 in a holder that doesn't identify the back color.

My understanding is that PSA recently started to track color variations, thus the pop report can be deceiving when determining scarcity of cards like this

I know that PSA didn't always designate the back color on the holder; but even with that I think the #'s of high grade white back Mantle's are incredibly low. I see PSA 8's all the time but never a white back in any mid to high grade.
