What a frigging train wreck this team has become.
A position coach becomes head coach then brings in an offensive coordinator from outside. Offensive coordinator gets fired two weeks before the season. Head coach promotes QB coach (a former offensive coordinator) who was passed over when the now departed coordinator was hired.
What's the over under on how many games it will take before they blow out Caddy's knee for a third time?
Morris says Jagodzinski lacked attention to detail, direction as coordinator

Jeff Jagodzinski was abruptly fired today as the offensive coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers because the team's offense was not moving far enough or fast enough in the direction new head coach Raheem Morris wanted.
The Buccaneers announced this morning they fired Jagodzinski and replaced him with quarterbacks coach Greg Olson.
Morris cited Jagodzinski's inadequate attention to detail and lack of "direction" as the reasons for the sudden move just 10 days before the Bucs' regular season opener.
"We're at the point now where we need to be more precise, more detailed," Morris said. "We need to have more direction to where we're going to go and we just don't have it right now. That's about as detailed as I can get on it."
The move comes on the eve of the Bucs' preseason finale against the Houston Texans. Tampa Bay opens the regular season Sept. 13 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Morris said Olson will call the plays for the offense now, but that very little will change in terms of the way the Bucs attack offensively. He did indicate he wanted to see more deep passes.
"The plan has not changed," Morris said. "We're still a zone blocking [team], a downhill [running] team. We're talking about a different direction with our passing game a little bit.
"We're talking about being more vertical, having vertical balls downfield, and going with Greg Olsen and getting more input from [receivers coach] Richard Mann, leaning on some of those guys very heavily.
"And it's not a knock on Jeff Jagodzinkski, a lot of the things will remain the same. This offense was going in the right direction. He did get it started going in the right direction. But now we have to finish it off with some of the other guys."
In a statement released by the team, Jagodzinski said he turned down a demotion to quarterbacks coach, which would have meant swapping jobs with Olson.
"I am certainly disappointed but I wish nothing but the best for Raheem Morris and the entire Buccaneer organization," Jagodzinski said. "I was given the chance to remain on staff as the quarterbacks coach, but felt that the timing for such a move was not in the best interest for either side.
"I appreciate the opportunity that was given to me. Again, I wish nothing but the best for this organization."
Jagodzinski was hired in January, three weeks after being dismissed by Boston College for pursuing the New York Jets' head coaching job.
Former Bucs head coach Jon Gruden, fired and replaced by Morris after going 9-7 and losing his last four games last season, said he was surprised by Thursday's news.
"I just got fired from Tampa Bay, so I'm sensitive to that. It's a strange situation," Gruden said during a conference call today to Monday Night Football, where he now works as an analyst. "I know Tampa Bay has a lot of really good players, I can attest to that. I can swear on the stand they are a talented football team.
"It's strange. It's uncommon because all I've read is how excited they were about the acquisition of Coach Jags. I'm just eager to here what transpired to cause this. Obviously, they feel they have someone in house to take the reigns, but they really don't have a lot of time because the regular season is closing in."
Former NFL quarterback and longtime ESPN analyst Ron Jaworski also was on the Monday Night Football conference call. He said the move has to hurt the Bucs because it comes so close to the start of the season.
"Now if you're looking at the quarterback situation in Tampa right now, you're bringing in a rookie in Freeman, you're bringing in a new guy in Leftwich and you're in this system and you're learning this system, now all of a sudden here you are, 10-11 days before your opener, and the guy who has been implementing this system is gone," Jaworski said. "That's a setback. I'm not privy to any information as to why that happened, but it's a setback.
"When you have as much change as the Bucs have had already, I think it makes it very difficult to start the season focused."
Jagodzinski was named offensive coordinator Jan. 29. He came to Tampa Bay after two years (2007-2008) as the head coach at Boston College. Jagodzinski led Boston College to the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game in each of his two seasons.
Prior to his stint at Boston College, Jagodzinski served as the offensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers in 2006 and spent the two seasons (2004-2005) prior to that on the staff of the Atlanta Falcons.
Olson joined the Buccaneers as quarterbacks coach in 2008 and was retained when the team promoted Morris to head coach. Olson previously served as the offensive coordinator for the Detroit Lions in 2005 and the St. Louis Rams from 2006-07. He has also previously served as the quarterbacks coach for the Lions, Chicago Bears and San Francisco 49ers.

<< <i>seems like there is a power struggle going on. Front office isnt putting $ out for free agents, now they blame the O cord? Wow, they are NOT looking good >>
The power struggle ended when Gruden was fired. Gruden was the reason that super bowl team went down so fast. He had too many personal issues with too mnay players.
Morris is just a temporary do-boy till the team finds a real head coach.
