READ THIS! You'll be glad you did.
**FACTS about this coin**
Total 1934-D HEAVY MOTTO Small D in NGC Census - (2) Two .... one in NGC 62 and this, the top pop 65 (1/0)
PCGS Pop TOTAL - 1 PCGS 65. None higher, lower or known to exist but for the 2 @ NGC. Verify this.
PCGS first recognized the 1934 HEAVY MOTTO just a few years ago. One day on the US Coin forum while discussing the 34 Heavy Motto,
D.Poole asked me about the then unrecognized 1934-D HEAVY MOTTO which also has since been added to the "with Varieties" section of The Registry.
Shortly thereafter I stumbled upon the rarer still 1934-D HM "Small D". I owned what was THE VERY FIRST 1934-D HEAVY MOTTO PCGS 65 made
which ALSO happened to be the extremely Rare Small D Variety. It's since been sold and is correctly attributed. It presently is the LONE piece in PCGS
population attributed as such Population 1 Top Pop. 1/0. THAT's PRETTY DARNED RARE! If you'd like to see it in comparison to this coin - it can be arranged.
*Edit* The current Owner IS a Member here!**
I first noticed that NGC Census showed the 34-D Small D for the REGULAR Motto but NOWHERE, at either service was there a single hint of a
1934-D HEAVY MOTTO "Small D". I brought this to Dave Lange's attention and he stated that they had never SEEN one before!
Naturally, I wanted to keep my coin in the new PCGS HEAVY MOTTO holder. Understand that at that time NOWHERE did a single 34-D HM Sm D even exist.
OK - so, long story short. That coin is still in the PCGS slab and to the best of my knowledge is the LONE coin in PCGS population so attributed.
There is a TOTAL NGC CENSUS OF TWO SUCH SPECIMEN - THE OTHER A NGC 62. THIS VERY COIN IS KING OF THE HILL across the street and I've now
handled BOTH TOP SPECIMEN!
Obviously this is AN EXTREMELY RARE COIN! (Low Pop/ Low Census). Again - there is ONE so attributed here at PCGS! Now, if you want to cross it over,
that's fine but if it crosses at the same grade there would then be a TIE for Top Pop here at PCGS and then there would be a single Top Census at NGC,
the aforementioned other lone specimen - the NGC 62. BY ALL MEANS - DO VERIFY THESE NUMBERS FOR YOURSELVES!
**BTW - I have pics of the NGC 62 1934-D HEAVY MOTTO Small D on file - having been sent to me by the owner who also is a Member Here!
This is a BEAUTIFUL, lustrous coin that COULD foreseeably grade MS 66. It's THAT NICE!
THIS IS ALL VERIFIABLE.
See if you can find the PCGS 65 1934-D HEAVY MOTTO Small D in the PCGS Pop report - then go on across the street and see the #s for yourselves for 34-D,
1934-D Regular Motto "Small D" and then THIS VERY COIN - THIS VARIETY ... The Rarest, lowest Pop/ Census 1934-D on the planet! Definitely NOT your
everyday run of the mill 1934-D!!
I KNOW you all are intelligent collectors and understand the significance of Rarity and Population/ Census!
This very coin IS rarer than Rare! Check it out!

Original skinned PCGS 64 1932-S in OGH - going Once!
&
It won't be long before this RARE 34-D disappears too.
The 1934 D SM D Heavy motto is a VERY VERY hard coin to find took me over 2 years to find this
Found raw and sent to NGC by me
I think this coin should grade MS 64 and might be a small over large repunched mint mark to boot.

as shown below, the LONE 34-D HEAVY MOTTO Small D in PCGS population -
THE FIRST 34-D HM made in PCGS 65 which has since been sold and now properly attributed.
This is how it looked when I owned it.
If the new owner would like to post it as it is now to this thread, he certainly has my permission.
These 3 are the only ones so certified! 3 of the rarest Washington Quarters known certified 34-D HM Sm D.
rarity it actually is ... then after this weekend one of two things will take place.
1- I MAY put it up for auction on ebay, Once ... I MAY even offer it in another auction venue
OR -
2- I will take it off the Market completely.
Frankly, I am amazed that it has not yet sold.
The facts have been lain out before you to verify.
I've no doubt it would sticker and is a great candidate for regrade.
All pieces known to exist (though surely there MUST BE more) are right here before you.
P.O.R. (Offers considered)

By the way Gentlemen (and our fine Lady friend collectors & Dealers) ...
I have added a slew of nice collectable Washington Quarters, RAW
for the purists out there! These ALL come from my personal stash/ collection
and is but the very tip of the proverbial iceberg. Some will make fine additions to
album collections while others are fit for grading but BEWARE - I USE MACRO
and every tiny little doo-doo look much worse than actually is! Most of these
will grade MS 64 - 65 .... some are as nice as the PCGS 66s around here.
Some have just enough rub to take them out the picture as grading candidates
BUT ALL will make nice additions to your collections - GUARANTEED!
So, instead of taking a chance on having them graded (with people audacious
enough to turn their noses up at PCGS 65 specimen) - IT's NOT WORTH taking a
chance on TRYING to make 65s & 66s, hoping to break even - soooo, HAVE AT IT!
Much more to come & everything is SATISFACTION GUARANTEED!
I think you'll find these quite acceptable and "a cut above" the eBay Norm!
Any particular wants (and NOT just Wash Qtrs) let me know!
Thanx,
B00M ~
