For this year, clearly Morales, although Tex is much better defensively than Morales. Not $19 million better, but you get the point.

Just think if the Angels signed Tex. Morales wouldn’t be getting close to the playing time he’s been given this year.


A neat story about Morales. When he defected from Cuba to South America, he still couldn’t get a passport to the US. It took months before we finally received one. When he arrived in the States, the baseball season had already started. His plane landed, and he hopped in a cab and went straight to the ballpark (believe it was a “A” Level team) . Manager put him in the line up and the first pitch he saw he hit it out of the park for a home run. Right then and there, you knew “Bam-Bam” Morales was something special.
