This one went for $53 and one last week for $80. Ones before that went for $98 and $131. I think it shows that patience can provide a good "deal" in this tough economic times. Don't fall in love with any one card and you will eventually get it cheaper.

I'm willing to bet that the first two were the ones you referenced. However, I'm not sure the trending here is distinctly downward. Rather, prices are just all over the place. You'd be surprised how many cards are like this.

I couldn't agree with you more. Seems like some weeks all I do is strike out then other weeks I get some real bargains. Just got to keep at it.

When I had more free time to search eBay before we had our baby I would place hundreds of low ball bids using my sniping program every week. Out of every hundred I would usually win a couple of cards at extremely cheap prices.
If you have the time and you aren't picky you can snag some good deals out there. One of my favorites that I posted last year was that I won three case fresh wax boxes of 87 Leaf baseball for something like $11.00, $3.50, and $2.50 all from the same seller. I believe BBCE sells the same boxes for $35.00 each.

Edit to add: Taking the time to check the spelling in the title of the listing could have netted the seller twice as much.
I too believe the spelling played a role.
