Found this flashback today from 1998. Jay Santos is asking Mark McGwire to stop hitting home runs to protect the value of his 1955 Roger Maris rookie card worth $5000. What a hoot.

I miss Phil Hendrie's show...they stopped playing him locally around 2001.

His show was designed to get a rise out of people, but unlike most talk show hosts he wasn't sparring with listeners, he had the guests and callers arguing with each other. And even though I knew he was setting up the listeners, the shtick never got old. In this audio bit...I laughed out loud when the guest told his caller to put his 10-year old son on the phone and then told the kid to kiss his butt.
