Boxer Mike Tyson PSA cards?

Are there any PSA graded cards of former Heavyweight Champ Mike Tyson? I don't recall seeing any, although I've seen a couple different things graded by BGS. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on some high graded Tyson cards. I especially like that 1991 Ringlords prototype. Just curious.

There is a Panini card from 1987 that is the true RC of Tyson.
PSA won't grade the Ringlords, which I found out the hard way after paying through the nose for them about eight years ago!
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!

Interesting. I've seen the Panini sticker on Ebay a while back in a BGS 9. Is there any particular reason that PSA won't grade the Ringlords card? I've seen a BGS 9.5 on Ebay a couple of times. If you don't mind me asking, what did you do with the ones you bought?

I still have them all. Tyson was one of my real favorites - the most electrifying athlete on the planet. He was must see TV.

I am not even sure what they sell for now. Haven't looked them up in a while...

I agree. There was a period of time when Mike Tyson was bigger than Michael Jordan. I've still never seen a heavyweight throw power punches with more speed and accuracy than Mike Tyson. Tyson just hit harder than anyone else. He was putting guys down with body punches. His KOs were spectacular. It's a shame that he wasn't able stay focused on boxing and stay out of trouble. I believe he would have been the greatest ever. I still think he belongs in the debate with Ali and Marciano. From 1985 to 1989 there weren't too many people in the history of boxing that could have beaten him.

If you haven't already, see the "Tyson" documentary. Great stuff.

The documentary was very revealing. I enjoyed it. I only wish it had been a little longer, although I can understand why it wasn't. I don't agree with everything Tyson said and did over the years but I have to admit I love the guy. He was an interesting individual. He was exciting to watch in his prime.

Looking for some Tyson cards here if anyone has any Panini's?
  • Also great in "The Hangover" as the guy who got his tiger stolen.
  • As crazy as this sounds - I don't love watching sports. I do love collecting cards. An expansion on that is for another day. That said - Mike Tyson before he chose the wrong path, was one of the most exciting athletes to watch! I loved watching him fight. For me he was the exception - someone I made time to watch because I purely enjoyed watching his fights. The only other athlete that ever was at that level of enjoyment for me was Michael Jordan. I was deeply saddened as a fan and a human being to see the unfortunate (for himself and his fans) path he chose to follow. I didn't even realize he was on cards - I collected all his Sports Illustrated covers.

Mostly on Italian stickers, not many cards, but still cool.

A while back I was watching some of his old fights on ESPN classic. I've never seen anyone just beat the snot out of people like that. When he was like 15-0, he was fighting these poor guys that never knew what was about to happen. It's a wonder he didn't seriously hurt somebody.

Tyson's Greatest Hits...I think thats the name...is a great watch of his best knockouts from the 80's
  • I just picked up the 1986 "Question of Sport" Mike Tyson card. It's a cool picture. I'm looking forward to getting it in the mail soon. Not sure if PSA will grade that one although I don't see why they wouldn't. So far my Tyson collection consists of.....

    1986 Question of Sport
    1987 Panini sticker #160
    1991 Ring Lords Promo
    1991 Tuff Stuff Jr #6

Still looking for a few of the other ones.

I just picked up a 1987 panini bgs 8.5 along with Holyfield bgs 8 from that same set. Do you have a scan of the Tuff Stuff card? Question card is pretty cool.

I wish certain people here would have the courtesy to stay out of threads discussing athletes that they don't like and don't collect. It shows a lack of consideration for the rest of the members to make comments for no other reason that to hijack and annoy. Personally, I think that it should be a bannable offense.

I'm glad you got your scan kingbeeswax

I think the Living Legend card is a bootleg type card, like not licensed, so I would think not, but you never know. According to the population report they never graded a question card
  • I forgot the name of the set, but I sold a set about a year ago that had Tyson in it. I think the year of the set was 1986. Included only boxers and the ones I remember were Muhammad Ali, Tyson and Roberto Duran.

I just picked up a Tyson Ringlords promo in PSA 10. I'm also considering switching my 1987 Panini from BGS to PSA. If I get enough of his cards maybe I'll start a Mike Tyson set registry.

I just picked up a holyfield panini on ebay for 4 bucks. I still havent seen a tyson panini pop up on ebay. I like the question of sport card.. but i emailed psa and they said they cannot grad that card. Tyson has an 86 panini correct? i've only seen the 87 card.

Tyson's "Question of Sport" card is sick. You can see the dudes mouthpiece flying out after Tyson hit him. I don't know why they won't grade that considering we now have matchbooks graded and included in the Larry Bird master set.

I'm pretty sure Tyson has 2 1986 Panini sitckers. One of them is him by himself, the other one is a foil sticker with him and Hagler.

has anyone seen the 1985 panini tyson card? the pop report says that card number 153 is from 1985.. but i've seen that card being sold as a 1986 and 1987 card.. the front is the same.. but i've seen two different backs. one english one italian. i'm trying to figure out if there are several variations of the card or just confusion on the pop report

Probably confusion. I think the first Panini is from '86, I think there are two different from that year

I saw you lost the auction on another thread. This guy may have one or two for $25: 1986 Panini Link
