5 Rolls Samoa Quarters Ended at $1.32 - Sort Of

Auction Link But the guy got creative.... shipping is face value plus $6.95 actuall shipping cost...... I doubt e-bay would be very happy with this fee avoidance.

Well, I don't really blame the guy. Hopefully, no one will rat him out.

If anything I think the buyer would. This is the second time I've seen an auction posted here like this. Must be a working strategy...for now.

Well actually, the seller could defend that he insured the rolls for the value of the coins, and the $6.95 is the shipping cost right? image

Maybe this forum's Ebay rats (I mean Police) can report him. Possibly, they also might want to sign up for the Long Beach show where they need rats to report dealers who bring in outside food.

I see people on ebay doing this quite often, I even put them in my watch and they never get pulled?

I reported it. As a seller who plays by the rules, listings like this could only hurt me. If eBay isn't making enough money because of people circumventing fees like this, they are going to raise fees for me to make up for it.

I dont see how they can tell you how much to charge for shipping next they are going to say how much to sell your item at. If they get away with it good for them. image

    I guess I would be with Commoncents05.

Type2, presume you realize they are bilking e-bay out of about $7 (Wag) through avoiding final values fees. If the seller does not like e-bay rules and fees, they are under no obligation to use e-bay.

  • I don't think it's worth reporting. When the seller's DSR's go low because of high shipping costs, he loses his discounts, and whatever else will be happening in October will be hurting him too. Now, if he was charging $50 shipping, another issue... maybe. But some eBay police just need to get a life.
