Best football cards from 1999-2008--writer looking for nominees

Hello collectors,

I am working on an article about football cards and part of it focuses on the best regular-issue gridiron cards over the last decade
(1999-2008). The main emphasis is price but if a card or two is not quite as high-priced as some others but you think they have extremely strong potential to be on this list please let me know.

Also, if you collect some of the all-time best vintage football cards (Namath rookie, National Chicle Nagurski, Jim Brown rookie...) let me know.
Do you have any stories associated with obtaining any of these all-time great cards?

Might not be what your looking for, but I think a decent timeline of the rise and Fall and (maybe) rise of Michael Vick's biggest RC would make for an interesting read. Especially if you could track it on a month by month basis from from right before the dogfighting came out, through his denial, then plea deal, plus any changes since he got released and signed by the Eagles.
