Do you think this is an Ebay scam ?

I bid on this 69 Ryan at 4 a.m. I was half asleep. The seller has no feedback. The seller had no other cards for sale. The scan just shows the card (which looks well centered) and the lower case; does not include the flip (? stolen scan). I have not paid yet. I have requested him to send me the cert #, and scan of the flip before I pay. Maybe the seller has no experience and just put a cropped scan on purpose. It is not a lot of money, but I do not feel like dealing with the hassle if this is a scam.

  • I would guess that it's a scam. It looks like it's a reused image-- see the old photobucket logo on the bottom of the card.

Scam - the back is of a raw card and doesn't have 8 corners. Just like always be careful.

It is usually best to ask for details before bidding.

I would NEVER bid/pay on that kind of listing.

    VERY likely a SCAM.

If you're not going to pay, I'd take proactive steps with ebay before he leaves neg feedback for you

4:00 AM or not that does not look like a wise bid.

    sellers can't give negs
  • Not a chance the auction is legit. Guy/Gal just stole someone elses scan and inserted it as their own which is why the camera icon is on there twice.

I guess I make my first idiot Ebay move. I will have to clean up my own mess.

Just to update. I emailed the seller, no response. I got his number, and left a message, asking for verification of the cert # and a scan of the flip, with today's date etc..
Then I get this message. I feel like giving him a neg.

Card was never available. Ebay would not take down listing. Card is/was never available.

Sellers do not need ebay to take an auction down.

IMO once you did not send Payment right away and started to ask questions he got cold feet.

    Neg him.

He know has 1 feedback from a 1 feedback buyer. The item ended on the 25th and of course one day later
    he gets feedback.

I guess the buyer lived across the street.
