6/19/09 eBay Auction $99.99
4/1/09 eBay Auction $72.75
3/9/08 eBay $100.00
10/29/07 eBay $62.00
7/15/07 eBay $85.84
4/6/07 eBay $83.00
2/16/07 eBay $113.52
True, last one sold for $99.99...but the average over the last year is $86.37, and has been as low as $62.
It's great how you can make stats fit your needs by using only some of them.
Edited to say: I'll give you $60 delivered for it.
He's selling it $10 below average for the last 5 sold, and $16 below the average of the 3 sold in the last year and a half. Yeah, he's really using the stats to skew the value of it. It would be one thing if the last 3 sold had been $99, $62 and $68, but with two of the last three selling for $100 I don't think he's misrepresenting the value at all. Your offer of $60, however, is an insult as he's guaranteed to get more than that if he threw it up on ebay.

Damn, you caught me. I have been plotting all week how i can push this card on some unsuspecting board member using trickery and guile.

don't worry, he's a big mean hungry tiger.....he'll just eat you.

Not an insult, it would be more that the seller on ebay netted when it sold for $62, and then paid the fees associated with ebay. It is not guaranteed to go for more than $60, as the last two "customers" already have one. I am willing to risk $60 to sell it myself for more (maybe).
1) The $62 sale was in 2007. Three have sold since then, two for significantly more and the other for $2 under his asking price. Using your logic, the price would have gone down, not up.
2) Your argument is based on one sale from 2007, mine is based on three sales from 2008 and 2009. Which sounds more reasonable?
3) I'll bet you $500 at 3/1 odds that the card sells for more than $60 if he puts it up on ebay with a .99 starting bid.

LET THE BETTING BEGIN!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I like your suckers bet. Call a buddy, bid against each other til it's over $60 and split the winnings, $250 each. Think I'll pass on the bet, I also think it would go for over $60. That's why my offer was $60, not gonna buy it for $75 to sell it for just over $80.
Could have sold my Leaf box 2 years ago for more than the $15 delivered I sold it to you for, but I didn't.
The suggestion that I would cheat in order to win a $500 bet is laughable.

I'm not sure what your motivation for selling it that cheap was, but you can't expect everybody else to sell stuff for significantly lower than market value.
Lee can have the 500.00 cuz I too am a nice guy.
Roger stop skewing stats.

Yes, you are. I am not. Maybe the hospitality industry was not the right choice for me.
No, but I'm running a new promotion where guests get to bust junk wax while they're waiting for their food. For every submittable card they pull they get $1 off.
