On pre-war cards I try to scan them at high dpi and blow up the picture. If the black printing shows as print dots it's almost always a reprint. If it shows as a solid black it's almost always legit.

The way to tell...
The background color should be the same as the border.
This is because the border area was cropped and a new white border added (like most all reprints)
