1953-S FRANKLIN PCGS MS65FBL at auction

Coming up in Sunday 08/30/09 Teletrade auction.

This is the first FBL 53-S that PCGS has graded in the last 5-6 years.

Unlike many (most) of the other FBL 1953-S's graded by PCGS, this one has a set of lower lines that are ALL THERE-- no imagination needed!

Some other rarely offered Frank's in the same auction as well.

Such as a Brilliant 57-P in MS66FBL, a Brilliant 1949-P in MS66FBL, and a Brilliant 49-S in MS66 CAC.

    Bush:

Congrats on the grading, and best of luck in the auction. I AM surprised they graded it FBL, as there is a slight disturbance to the right of the crack.

I have a similar coin; for seven years and 11 tries, no avail! It has a full set of lines, BUT there is a thumbprint at the base of the bell, and I think they have a problem with it. If I may ask, what tier did you submit it under?

Wondering if this is my fellow Franklin nut Bushmaster from about 10 years ago.

We had some good exchanges, bought a few coins from each other. Carolina Collection. I think you had another Ebay name at the time.

In any case, nice to know you're still around and with the series.

    Good luck...
No,no- the kids and the cat are all right honey.
It's just that I got my PCGS grades.

How many times did you submit this one?
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

How much would you have paid?

Five! Now, what if you were not the knowledgeable Franklin guy and submitter that you are, and only submitted it once and sold it for $60?

Side note - does anyone know where the 1953-S (PCGS-MS67) Franklin is? I have a customer interested in the coin.

As a side side note - I would rather have the 67 than the coin here. I like someone stated above don't think it is FBL. And even if it were it would NOT be worth the 22K extra!

Well the buyer thought it was worth $22,000 + the juice which puts it at over $25,000.

This is a RARE coin in MS65FBL and it's importance should not be overlooked image

Thanks I bought it and there seem to be a lot of nay sayers. I have collected coins for 40 years. Franklins for 2. I have seen several 53s 65's and this one is above average.
