Live Oak/San Antonio TX Alamo Coin Show report plus pickups

This will be pretty short and to the point, hopefully.
The show's attendence seemed pretty steady, but not too packed. There were tables where you did have to wait your turn to look at the coins. The slabbed material I saw was mostly fair to middling, with loads of 'ugly' MS-65 coins. Some of the asking prices were way above currebt reality too. "Jackie's Coin's", please take note - your prices were about twice too high then and are 3 times too high now. PCGS MS-66 RD cents are not rare! Most of the dealers were saying it was on OK show, the bullion dealers seemed to be doing better. This is a show where I mostly stick to raw coins now, I seem to find something good almost every time.
My rants: Enough of the 'bacl to the gold standard, this country sucks, I'm loading up on guns' apocolypse talk from some of the attendees. It's the same s**t year after year, and I've been hearing at at every coin show since the 70's.
The other one is hearing a couple of dealers that longed for the good old days before "PGCS", "NGCC" and "ANSC" (verbatim), because the coins would sell themselves instead of the plastic. Point taken, but I had to peek at what was in their stock. As I suspected, scrubbed coins graded MS-60, bad AT examples sold as 'mosnter toning' and gross overgrading on circulated examples. The real kicker is that they were quoting PCGS price guide prices for their junk! I saw a printout, and it was straight from the PCGS price website. Nothing bought there, needless to say. Thanks for reading and let me know what you think of my post and the coins below.
OK, now my pickups, all raw:
This 1922 Peace dollar was removed from one of those old bank holders and toned fairly nice IMHO. I know not everyone goes for this kind of toning, but I got it for a decent prices and I really like it.

Not bad for paying melt value, I'm not kidding!

An attractive Mexico 20 centavos piece from 1954. I always liked this design.

A way above average example of a 1969-D Jefferson nickel. Even shows signs of some steps! Paid all of 25 cents for it too.

That 1969 Nickel is really nice as well.
The name is LEE!
Some great looking newps. The peace looks to have a good strike.
It's the first show here I've missed in years. I wanted to go but didn't trust myself as I am in get out of debt mode
Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
That's both sad and hilarious....
Hope there are more educated buyers out there...
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
I really like the toning on the Peace $1. Not too bad of a Roosie either.

I almost forgot the lamest quote yet, "sure the prices have been coming down for the last few shows, but just wait a couple more shows, then we can jack up the prices and the buyers would never even know". Oh really? I think most buyers have longer memories than that. Overall, it still was an enjoyable show for me.

It isn't worth the time or the gas to attend the local shows anymore.
