1958 Mantle PSA 8: Legit EBAY auction or not?

Wanted to get opinions from others as to if this EBAY auction passes the smell test: I say scam.
I can't tell you how many times I've been at a yard sale and picked up a 1958 PSA 8 Mantle.

his only transactions are buying feedback...run forest, run!
  • I don't usually buy big ticket items from someone who only has 10 positive feedback.

Is there anyone on this planet that sells PSA cards at a garage sale?????? NOT.

  • What does a '58 Mantle in 8 usually go for? My guess is more than $450, as '65 Mantles in 8 generally go for around $1,000 give or take. Looks to me like everyone who looked at the auction thought the same thing.

Edit: Just noticed that this was the original poster's first post...I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'.

The Mantle in question sold in Memory Lane's Dec. 2008 auction for $2,748.32. Last time I checked, Memory Lane was not a garage sale. We should nail this jerk.
"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

Agreed. That image is not in VCP's database, so I'm not sure where he lifted it from.

The Ruth is being shilled too. Oy.
