My first post- 5 years of reading-I finally signed up

I would first like to compliment all of you for being so understanding and patient. I have been collecting coins seriously for the last five years now. I have so many fun coin adventures to share on the forum. But I must first take the time to thank the members here for all of the useful information/tips with this hobby.
I just purchased a few rolls of Peace dollars and noticed one of them is a 19_2, obviously missing a 2. Under a loop, its just missing. Its around VF. I will figure out how to post a picture later. With all of the Vams out there, I didn't see anything mentioning that date. Has anyone seen such a coin? A Vam variety may have some little line in it and it makes top 100, yet an error missing a date number is probably nothing.
One last note- I am going to have to figure out how to insert a cool coin next to my name, I hope that I am not using someones elses icon. I have a 1915-S Indian Gold ten that is only a PCGS AU55, but it is one of the prettiest coin that I own. It has an orange peal color to it. That might be a good start.

the missing "2" on your peace dollar is likely the result of a grease-filled die -- if you post a pic, folks here will be able to confirm if that's the case.
60 years into this hobby and I'm still working on my Lincoln set!
I don't have an answer on the Peace dollar but I'd imagine someone will.

Of course it looks like you've already been aboard.
In light of the fact that more than half an hour after you
signed up you don't have a single cheet post yet (and, of
course that it took you five years to sign up), I'm going to
wager you don't get your 10,000 posts soon.
Hang in there, though.

<< <i>Welcome. The missing 2 is either a grease-filled die or an alteration. Once upon a time, missing letters were counted as separate VAMs, but that is no longer the case, as they are striking errors and not indicative of a different die or die stage. Nevertheless, they are still sought by collectors, simply because they're cool.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
