What happens to the MLB contract?

J.J. Hardy of Milwaukee was an All Star in 2007, I believe, and just got demoted to the Minors. He has a pretty fat contract. Does he still get paid the same in the minors or is his salary cut?

    He gets paid the guaranteed amountof his contract whether he is playing in Milwaukee or at home with himself.
