Yeah who didn't see this coming, we had like 1 month of non Favre news which must have been too much for him.

I predict after he really retires he will go on every reality show, talk show and NFL show he can just to keep in the limelight.

I think despite what he keeps saying about records not mattering that they really do mean everything to him, and he wants to push the consecutive games record further from peyton manning.

Also he hates packers management for taking him seriously when he said he wanted to retire. The Vikings are a good team without a good QB.

As a longtime Packers fan I'm sad to see him in purple, I hope his career ends well for him and he can walk away on his own terms one day.

Yep, the media is stating that he signed and the team reported it is a done deal, and he is already at practice. He is wearing #4, so what happens with Booty who had #4?

I have mixed emotions about this........ as a lifelong MN resident and lifelong Vikings fan, the Packers are the "hated rivals" and that has always included Favre. Will he make the Vikings better? Sure, anything is better that Sage R. or T. Jackson. However, my personal feelings are that even if the Vikings win the SuperBowl, it will be a tainted SuperBowl with Favre, sort of like the asterisk that was attached to Barry Bonds homerun ball.

Sorry, can't help but feel that way right now.......... image

    Here is another question .............

Would you take Favre as your QB in fantasy football?
  • If hes smart he retires on 10-17-09! else wise he may have a forced retirement sometime mid afternoon on 10-18-09!

As a backup yes, he will have 1 or 2 good games ( 2+ td's ) but he throws way to many picks and per usual will be overated to the tune of Minny thinking they can win the Super Bowl this year.

am I the only one who would rather go into the season with Rosenfels the starter than Favre?

Favre always blows it in the playoffs.

he is the biggest TOOL in the history of sports.

i would trust the words of michael vick, pac man jones, or even o.j. simpson before favre.

words cannot express my disdain for him. i hope minnesota matches detroit from last season. i also hope that when he goes to lambeau (where he has just spit in the face of the loyal cheeseheads who supported and defended his selfish antics for years trying to see the brightside in his all about me style of play) gets booed unmercifully when he is introduced, throws six picks and is laughed off the field. any packer fan who cheers for him that day should have his season tickets revoked.

minnesota will regret this more than the herschel walker deal.

i never thought i would wish for a player to have a career ending injury, and i could not wish a darryl stingley or mike utley situation even on a p*ckerwood like favre but a joe theismann or napoleon mcallum situation would suit me fine.

is there anyone out there who can still defend this moron?

Those two games against the Packers are going to a be a media frenzy unlike any
other games these two teams have ever played against each other.

Lol damn did Brett shoot a 12 point buck off your property?

    Minnesota will REGRET this,lol whatever.

The Packer fans are losing their IDOL, this CRUSHES them.

A PERFECT scenario for the Purple. Not to mention the fact that they NEED him.

Worse case we dont win the SB, oh well so WONT 31 other clubs.

Best case, we win the BS with Brett damn Favre, lmao. Eternal Packer fan ownage forever...

Geoman --- I cannot believe a Vikings fan would say that if they won a Super Bowl that it would be tainted. I cannot relate to that comment as a die-hard fan at all. I see a strong separation from the franchise and the players that play for it. I'll take any flak from a GB fan that says our SB would be tainted any day. It's the only hollow defense that they could latch on to in their minds...
    Enjoy your collection!

  • Lol it would be Tainted all right, right up GB's sore Taint...

I'm a packer fan and he sure isn't MY idol. In fact, if he came back to green bay instead of minnesota, I'd root against him. He's a major jerkoff.

You watch the game? I doubt it. He was on his passes, 4-5 step drop, checked down, made accurate passes where they shoulda been. Our rookie wrs were not in sync. Funny after 2 ENTIRE days of being on the team that they cant be in sync ehhh.. lol... Favre looked good. Tjack helped his trade value.

  • John, you are delusional if you dont think that the majority of Packer fans in his era are not fans of his. Obviously some are not.
