Overall, I was really pretty happy with it. The 565 in 98 used is probably my favorite of that lot. When it comes in I'll add some to my registry and then forward some of the duplicates to Steve Crippe for consignment.

  • Nice 565! I never realized a used stamp could even get a grade of 98... This is the kind of used pre-1940 US stamp I would go for, without a heavy cancellation that mars the beauty of most of the engraving.

I picked up a C2 on eBay a while back that had a small cancellation "remnant" in the upper left and minor centering issues (you can see the very bottom edge of the stamp that was immediately above it before it was perforated). A much better value than the typical used C2 and for less than the Scott CV. Mint stamps are awesome, but there are real beauties in used if you look for them.
  • That is a nice stamp and it looks like you did good on several others. I have always liked the dark blue stamps and could not resist buying a 694. To bad it is previously hinged.
    I'll post a scan later.
  • Thanks, both of you. I have a regular submission that went in the same day that I'm still waiting on too. Any day now . . .
