Teletrade is slow tonight. What's everyone broke?

Selling most of my big items ok tonight, but boy can't get rid of Ngc statehood ms 70 quarters or some Broadstruck and other error coins.image

I knew Teletrade whacked me and should listed my items in the last two auctions when there was free shipping.. Oh well take a look and see if you like something for your kids or you dog..image

P.s. Have a boatload of nice PCGS 69 proof/dcam Kens on TT also with no reserve.

  • I like teletrade but wish they would knock off thatfloating reserve. I think they would do better by letting you know when the number is hit.

Links to some highlighted coins? Did you research the Teletrade prices before consigning? Did your coins go well below what other coins on Teletrade have sold for recently? Did you consider other options, such as consigning to a retail dealer, selling on BST and/or Ebay?

I bid on one $200+ coin recently on Teletrade. Because I am in California, the fees, shipping and taxes would be close to 30%. I won a $45 coin recently and paid a startling $18 in shipping, fees, and taxes, or about 40%. As a bidder, I take all that into consideration when placing my bids.

Not sure about that but I only had 1 item on my watch list (franklin half) as most of what was on there was crap tonight.
Last night was ok...I was outbid on some and won some (hadn't wanted to win, kind of, but I'm fine with winning what I did).

I've noticed that, in the last few months, with few exceptions, that for what I want (nice Roosies, Franklins, IHCs, Morgans), Mondays have sucked big ones. Sundays haven't been too bad and Wednesdays were "ok".

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • I'm likely making an unexpected bit purchase of a new DSLR body (Canon T1i or 50D or its successor in the next week or two) so I've had to re-arrange my budget, meaning cutting out about $1k from coins.

There is always the old telephone method - it still works! (It was what we all had to use back in the "old days".)

And neither of the lots I was watching were sold - soon to be recycled in another auction I expect.

Ive looked over the offerings on that auction site several times and never found anything that piqued my interest to the degree I was willing to deal with the difficulties and costs of purchasing in that manner.

Yeah, I hear ya. Punching two keys (bid and confirm) on the keypad is a lot of work. Then you have to pull out your wallet, extract your credit card, and type in all 16 numbers. Overwhelmingly difficult!

I just checked my DC# and TT received my coins on July 20..

As the consignment form stated my coins would be in the ANA dates of the 9th/12th if I remember with no such time limit before the end of July...

But when I didn't see them on the auction site, I called and they stated they had to get everything ready for those two special dates and I missed the deadline.. But, I will be eligible for the "Seller" fee rebate..

What irks me is that a buyer would likely buy low end stuff with the free shipping offered in those two days.. And last night is one of the worse nights possible for selling stuff at any auction house.. MONDAYS are bad!!!

Futhermore, the whole auction last night was worthless and put it lightly "Empty". So, some of my high end stuff in Gold Commens and Morgans sold, but my I knew better junk dumping.. Now it's time to get back some of those buyback fees and lower my other junk coins almost notta to make a somewhat profit off of the small stuff..

It's not a good time to sell... "PERIOD"!!!!!!!

BTW: I did do very well on about 13 Paper notes last week and got higher than normal profit and ask for those. Maybe buyers are looking at other things. Bring back the Beanie Babies..image
  • Summer is a bad time to sell at Teletrade. Especially in this Recession.
  • I bought 3 coins tonite 1930 s Lincoln PCGS 64 BN; 1882 O Morgam PCGS 60 and an 1882 S Morgan PCGS 64 PL. I am very happy with all three.
