Home Buy, Sell & Trade - Cards & Memorabilia

Help Me Decide, Please!

I am looking for help from all you seasoned well informed card people. I have two 57 Starr PSA 8's. I will probably have to sell one. Can you please give me your opinion on which I should keep. I have posted both fronts and backs of the cards. Thanks as always.

  • I would keep the second one. Actually, I would sell them both and buy vintage baseball cards. But if I were you, I would keep the second one.

Agreed, the 2nd one is centered better and has less snow

Keep the one ending in 916. That is a nice card.

Thanks for your responses, keep, em coming. Regardless of which I will keep, if anyone has an interest in the other one, please let me know, before I put it up on ebay later this week.

  • Just wondering how that "snow" can effect the grade ?

Is it deemed a flaw or is it expected printing process ?

The second card looks better on eye appeal - but then I am not a grader.

    Nice Bart Starr card.

    cheers

That is a good question. The people on here always have the answers, so hopefully they will come through. Other than that snow the color is darker than the newer flip and the back is way better. The corners seems better on the first, but the centering is better on the second. So far it is 9-1 for the second one.

Seems like the newer flip has the votes as the one for me to keep. Keep giving me yourf opinions. I will be putting one of them on ebay on tuesday or wednesday. They both are very nice cards. If anyone has any interest in one, please let me know. Thanks.

I'd keep the second one (ending in 4723). The front is significantly better (IMHO) on it, enough that it makes up for the OC back.

The experts have spoken. The second card (newer flip) has won 14-1. I really appreciate all of your help. I will be selling the first card on ebay in a couple of days. If you have any interest, please pm me or email me at mexpo75@aol.com. Thanks again for all of your help. You guys (and gals) are great!

The second one looks better with no snow. The centering on the back of the first one looks better. Do you trade?

    Thanks,
    John
  • Doesn't look like there was ever any doubt as to which was the keeper.
1st one is overgraded due to the ugly snow in my book.

I say dump the overhyped, overpriced boring baseball and keep up with the cooler FOOTBALL!

I'm going to be completely honest. Sell both of them, starting with the one with the snow. I would not be happy with either one. Could have easily been a 6 and a 7.

I agree with Mickey 71. The second one is better than the first but the orange blotch under the throwing arm of Hornung on the second card is distracting to the eye. I'd sell the top one first, then look for an upgrade. Once that is done, sell the second one.
