Spark Erosion??

Sorry, couldn't resist...
We had the opportunity to spend a few weeks at Philmont this year, and took almost a thousand pictures while there.

I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.
Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.

    I love lightning pictures almost as much as seeing it. Did you take that? Impressive either way!
    MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

    I tried a lightning picture once. In the Utah deserts during a stormy day.

    As my tripod was set up and I was looking through the viewfinder at a nice dark cloud in front of me, my hair stood up for a fraction of a second. Up, then down.

    Another fraction of a second later, a lightning bolt happened about a quarter of a mile in front of me.

    Needless to say, I beat it and got to cover immediately!
