  • Hi :

I have two daughters who are avid card collectors. Try starting them out on sets like Hannah Montana, High School Musical, iCarly & Jonas Brothers. You can pick up boxes of those, on Ebay in the 30 to 50 buck range.

Ask them which of those is their favorite, make a big production out of buying the box on Ebay.

After you get it have a father/daughter group rip then collate and see which of the chase cards you still need. Then teach them how to know what the "HOT PACKS" are and watch their excitement when they find their first at places like WalMart or Target. That's how I got my young ones started.

My youngest daughter collects "N" and "T" animal cards. She has complete sets of all those I mentioned.

Just take them to a neighborhood show and see what they are drawn to.

  • A set like the Donruss Americana could also start their interest in so many other realms of celebrity/shows cards...And if I'm not mistaken there are relic cards in that set from High school musical etc.
  • I just bought a box of 2009 Topps Jonas cards for $29.99 plus $8.00 S&H for my 13 year old daughter Marianka. You can also look at High School Musical, Hannah Montana, I-Carly - all are popular with young girls. Boxes of those are readily available on Ebay.

It is a lot of fun ripping one of those boxes with your daughter, collating the cards & putting complete base sets & master sets together.
