1974 Topps Football Experts - Parker Brother's Variations

Football experts:

Picked this up on ebay on the cheap and guessed they were from the Parker Brother's game. I was right, but I'm confused by the variations. First, the cards only have one asterisk and second, they have the 1973 stats on the back. But I'm confident they are Parker Brother's because of the different image on the front of the six cards pictured. Also, they are all first series cards and came skipped numbered.

Did Parker Brother's have a second print run that had the 1973 stats on the back (instead of the more common 1972 stats)?

Since all the cards have one asterisk and 1973 stats I'm assuming there is no way of telling (other than the image variations) that a card like the Johnson and Hayes are from the PB's set or the regular Topps issue?

Any help would be great.
