Should this have received a Qualifier?

I purchased this card a couple of months ago just as it appears below, and after two attempts to get it reholdered using a form-fitting slab, it remains in this unsightly case. I've had a half-dozen of these same slabs swapped out in recent months, but this guy (Walker) hasn't gotten any love. That said, I suspect that it may be miscut, and was holdered without the appropriate qualifier. What do your eagle eyes see?

Finding any of these cards in decent condition is a chore in itself and PSA is pretty lenient when it comes to a few blemishes. Most of the 1915 cards were found inside the Cracker Jack boxes, but they were also available in full sets by mail.

I agree that the Walker card might be a result of a no-qualifier request, thus taking it from a PSA 5 down to a 3.

That's a good point, Poppaj, as it is rather clean for a PSA 3. I'm sure it would stick out considerably if it were placed in the appropriate slab, which might explain why it remains where it is.

I have seen far worse fitting slabs than that one.

Just give the slab a few taps on the lower left corner or upper right (on a table or something similar) to straighten the card out.

That will help the eye appeal a bit,

it does appear to be miscut and maybe it won't fit into a regular holder....the bottom right side is larger than the top

It could have possibly, but what they did (I think) was net grade the card.

That is, instead of it being a 5 MC they graded it a 3.

Had that been a card from the 50's or 60's it very well may have been returned as not holdered.


They did the submitter a favor by net grading it and holdering it IMO.
