Koinsolv - any one use it?

Hello , Any one had any experience with Koinsolv. I have seen the product around but am curious can it be safly used in place of acetone.
Any down side.

Works fine for me on copper and silver. Never tried it on copper-nickel or gold. Always use Koinsolv in a well ventilated area. The fumes are as noxious if not more so than acetone. I also recommend wearing either latex or nitrile gloves and safety glasses when working with it. Repeated skin contact could be harmful to your health.

I put some coins in acetone for 2 days and they're still frugly! ...can anyone give me some insight?

I just searched this thread and one other earlier today because I just bought some Koinsolv. A few who have posted 4+ years back already gave a thumbs up for the product. Reason why I didn't post to either of those threads....until now.

Koinsolv...lol...it sounds like some sort of topical steroid that vladimir putin uses to find his teeny-tiny little baby genitals

I use Koinsolv when acetone doesn't work (or work quickly enough). Like acetone, it may cause copper/bronze to turn bluish purple if the underlying PVC has eaten into the metal of the coin.

Also beware that Koinsolv is hydroscopic, like brake fluid. That means it absorbs water from the air and eventually becomes useless. You can tell this is happening when the can starts to rust inside and the fluid becomes brown. Keep the cap tightly sealed!
