2009 St Louis Cardinals Championship Run Thread

Now that Albert has some REAL protection (not a converted pitcher), and the cardinals management opened their checkbook finally to obtain some players...

the cardinals look solid enough for another run....Larussa was very happy with the pitchers they traded for all bats...

ALbert already locked up his third MVP (should have 7 if Bonds were stricken from books), and the cards are poised for a strong October run in a weak NL...

I hope you are right. But, as much as it pains me to say it, I still think the Phills are the team to beat. image

  • If they don't win the division, they have the same chance of getting a WS ring this year as I do.
  • If Florida happens to make the playoffs i hope Hanley Ramirez wins the MVP image

Hanley's having a great year but at this point I'm thinking he has a snowball's chance in hell of winning MVP.

    How is Lugo doing? image

I still can't believe how well Pinero is doing, who was so bad for the Red Sox, he was only used for mop-up.
  • big difference between AL and NL for pitchers.....always improve moving to the NL....then you add the best pitching coach in baseball (where is mazzoni these days) and it is no surprise the Cardinals get the most out of their pitchers....
  • Cards can do it this year, they were so close last year. Larry Fitzgerald has to stay healthy.

Cards may be 7-9 if they are lucky, no way the other three teams can be as bad as last year.

I'm not necessarily a Cards or Pujols fan, but I like Tony LaRussa as I am an A's fan and have followed him since his days there. So it would be nice to see him pick up another World Series victory. By the time he retires, I think LaRussa could very easily be among the top five (5) managers of all-time.

Is Edge still on the team?

Are you still a clueless bandwagon fan?

The answer is most certainly....YES, LMAO!

Which NFL team are you rooting for this year, or are you going to wait until week 17?

  • Edge has no team right now. Tim Hightower is going to carry the running game.

and how long can they pay Lienart big money to hold the clipboard?
  • Cards have money to burn. They're so far under the salary cap. Did you see Edge signed with the Seahawks.
