Best way to remove Sharpie from a Silver bar?

Any ideas? Never had to do it before.

    Heat it up with a torch and the sharpie should pop right out.

    If acetone doesn't quite cut it, you might try toluene or xylene and then an acetone rinse.

    Be careful though. All that stuff is flammable, and use it in a well-ventilated area, because the fumes aren't really that great for your liver.image

  • If you do not have all of the other chemicals suggested at home.... rubbing alcohol or finger nail polish remover[acetone].

    Thanks, all. Picked up a credit Suisse 100g bar, but they wrote the "ounce" weight right across the face of it.
