Went to an Independent league game last night

I grew up watching the Shreveport Captains which at the time was a AA team for the Giants. Guess it's been over 15 years since the team lost it's affiliation with the Giants and the Texas League. Was always cool to see a guy play and then see him play in the majors later that season or the next season. Now we have an independent league team called the Shreveport Captains. Went to my first game last night and it will be my last.

It was some of the worst "professional" baseball I have ever seen. Not a single pitcher threw the ball over 86 MPH and no one could hit the ball. Why do these guys still play other than for the love of the game? They can't be making much $$

On a side note, at least I got to see one of my favorite former Texas Rangers. The manager for the other team was Pete Inciviglia.

Bill , Raul Ibanez just recently displaced Ole Pete as the all time leader of homeruns hit by someone who's last name starts with an "I".

    Tragic but true.

I'm truely sorry that this has happened to your hero.

Now I have another reason to hate the Phillies.
