I didn't know who he was - I guess that makes me dumb.

    Very sad.

His resume is large and I see many, many favorites on the list.

    Very sad.

  • Amazed... especially cuz he had absolutely no connection to sports cards.

He may have had many such connections, but I don't know that.

He did have two such connections with famous friends and associates.

Alyssa Milano, a close friend of JH, tweeted earlier today:

"The John Hughes film legacy will live on. xxxxxxx Some of our favorite John Hughes movies scenes: xxxxxxxxx
RIP John & thanks for making my teen years bearable. xxxxxxxxxx"

On March 24, 2009, Milano's book on her baseball fandom, Safe At Home: Confessions of a Baseball Fanatic, was released.

Milano is also a collector of sports memorabilia.

    ....

One of John Hughes' best friends and closest confidants/collaborators
    was Penny Marshall.

PM is likely America's best known female collector of sports memorabilia.

  • Great director, but I bet most people wouldnt know him if they saw him on the street.

Made some of the most quoted movies of the 80's....breakfast club, ferris bueller, 16 candles. Sort of a shame he didnt continue in the 90's.
