wow......i am suprised......rashard lewis suspended 10 games for PED'S ( performance enhancing drugs )

    Might be the first basketball player suspended for this, if my memory serves me correctly.

    YOU GUYS HAVE TO READ::::

    DHEA -- is available in any GNC or Vitamin Shoppe.

    It is given to men that are aging to combat high estrogen levels that could occur.

    I have taken this stuff -- it does "ZERO" as a performance enhancer.

    Granted he was wrong for taking something on the banned substance list, but for example, if you took triple the dosage or this stuff for 6 months your bench press would go up no more then if you didn't take it.

    Older men , 40's , 50's are said to take this with saw palmetto, to combat a decrease of libido...

    DHEA is a steriod like GEM is a card grading company -- hope that helps you understand.

    basically most tests look for evelated Test levels. Many substances increase your test levels.

    In order to fail a drug test you test must be 3-8x's the avg male test level.

    If there isn't a trace of a particular substance in your blood , then test levels are used to guess if you have been on Steriods.

    Usually you can tell based on the Test levels.

    I don't know what the NBA uses as a number for what is over the limit, but something like DHEA could be used after steriod use or post steriod use to confuse (mask) a result. That is why it is a banned substance.

    Basically atheltes are eventually going to have to have mantory blood work / steriod test monitoring done from the day they step into the "PRO" ranks.

    If anyone knows a company that does testing for pro-athletes , buy that stock, they will be around forever making profits.

    Funny how people don't know anything about Steroids -- even most doctors but all want to write stories on the topic.
