Got this email today from my General Motors rep:

Mike,
First, let me say congratulations on an awesome month in July! You ranked number 1 out of 69 dealers in the area for P&A sales and 6th in the entire Northeast RCC region. GREAT JOB. Attached is your scorecard for the month which will break down all your P&A sales. Also your CFI numbers will be at the bottom. Just a heads up, we have a new program to sign up for this month. This program is the Extended Roadside Assistance Program. It's really great and I will be sending info out on it soon. We can discuss the program, your amazing numbers, and any concerns you have when I call. Have a great day. "

    Its always nice beeing #1 in anything, but when its something soo important like a job, its all that more sweeter image

    Also, you can always go higher, like #1 in the entire Nation, or how about the World! image

    thanks guys. Got the email this morning but it didn't really sink in till a little while ago when I read it at home - pretty cool that they notice we're still trying

    just a pat on the back. In the old days, you used to get trips and prizes for stuff like that but it would be quarterly or yearly. I think those days are long gone though

    This is just one month so far.

    No, don't think we got any clunkers in here. Cadillac and Saab dealer. Our customer's trade ins are usually more valuable than the 4500 cashback from that program or have better gas mileage than allowed.

    With the sale of Saab, is that part of your business at risk or will the current dealer network stay in place?

    We're not sure yet. Originally, it was supposed to be that under the new GM agreement, no non-GM franchises (Saab) will be allowed under the same roof as a GM dealership. I've since heard there will be exceptions. We've been operating as business as usual and having no problems with GM or Saab. I'm a 20 year Saab guy. Only had Cadillac for about 2 years now so I absolutely do not want to see Saab go away.
