Yikes indeed. Unfortunately, I did not do my research on this seller prior to purchasing this card last Sunday. I saw the card and looking at that scan, I was very impressed. I placed a snipe bid and was surprised I won. I looked at toolhaus after realizing I won.

After looking at toolhaus, I figured I would put it on my credit card just in case there was a problem. I use a smaller card on Paypal in case my account is ever compromised - limits my exposure. So, since I was caught offguard by actually winning, I needed to wait for a payment to clear before paying for the card. I figured that since I won the auction at 10pm CDT on Sunday night, payment on Tuesday shouldn't be a problem since the auction terms state 7 days. The majority of the time, unless I am watching another auction from the same seller that I expect to win, I pay within a few hours of auction end...so I wanted to be vigilant about payment.

When I logged in to eBay on Tuesday to make my payment, I realized that the seller had sent me no less than 4 invoices! I then put on my "jerk" hat and decided to wait until tonight, 7 days from auction end, to make my payment. Right or wrong, I felt like the seller was being obnoxious with the multiple invoices within 48 hours of auction end.

Since Tuesday, I've received more invoices from the seller...and just a few hours ago, he sent me this message:

<< <i>Please note that a PayPal payment for the 1975 TOPPS BASEBALL 223 ROBIN YOUNT PSA 9 HOF ROOKIE RC was expected within 7 days. We will be forced to file a dispute with eBay if payment is not received before Monday, 8/3/09. >>

No hello. No thanks for purchasing his item. Instead, all I've received from this seller for the past week have been invoices and then this message. I see no reason to respond to his message, so I won't. Payment was made at about 9:35pm tonight.

When I sell items, I note 7 days for payment and they get one invoice at the end of the auction. If I haven't received payment, I send a followup invoice on the 8th day with a note to please contact me if there is a problem as I am generally pretty flexible. Now, I don't expect every seller on eBay to be as patient as I am, but I do expect that I am not going to be harassed for payment by the seller.

In hindsight, this all could have been avoided if I had done my due diligence up front ... and again if I had just ignored the multiple invoices and paid on Tuesday when I planned to. Still, I am amazed by sellers like this who have zero customer service skills.

Craig, I have dealt with this guy in the past with NO problems at all. I do however pay immediately when I win an auction, so I havent dealt with the quick trigger this guy seems to have.
