Any idea on shipping cost for a 20x26 matted poster?

Just wondering what domestic shipping would be for it. It's not really a poster, but a matted NY Sunday News color suppliment. Also, how do you ship? Is there a priority box that will fit this??

Thanks-
Claude

Do they make a Priority box that big or will I have to box it myself??

Not positive about that, but at worst you would just pack it yourself, but you can still use priority.

USPS doesn't have anything that big. You're more than welcome to take more than one priority box and tape them together, you can get them free here, but you're better off finding cardboard the size you need. If the poster is valuable or has sentimental value to you, then you're best using doublewall or even triplewall cardboard.

Take 2 pieces of doublewall a little bit bigger than the poster, put it inside and tape the outsides. Mark "do not bend" but it's best to leave at least an inch border around the edges, because it will get banged around some. Tell the clerk it's fragile so it gets stamped, that might help also.

Cardboard that size is best found around appliance stores and furniture stores. You might need several pieces to make it thick enough that you're comfortable. Washers, driers, refrigerators and stoves all come in cardboard boxes. They will usually give you a couple sheets just for asking.

Insurance might be a good idea just in case.

Priority across the county is probably around $20 including insurance for a box 26x26x2 weighing 5 pounds.
