    PSA article:

The 1932 U.S. Caramel Gehrig is really the first mainstream card of the "Iron Horse." The card is very tough and if it were not due to a "find," I am not sure if any high-grade examples would exist. The 1932 U.S. Caramel cards are usually found off-center, toned and with terrible eye-appeal. The Gehrig example, specifically, is found off-center more often than other key cards in the set. The set, which contains athletes from various sports, is one of the hottest sets on the market right now due to the scarcity of quality examples. As the first mainstream card of the great slugger, this card should enjoy great demand for years to come.

    I forgot to add $1375

My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)

Get him slabbed and I'd guess it would break a grand, but not by much. I know that's a heck of a crease, but it's really a fine copy.

At least $1800.00 based on the below example (I think it looks better):

    eBay Gehrig

Also 707 has one listed at $2500 (a bit nicer):

    707

    Best of luck!

  • The Standard Catalog lists this card at $1500 in VG. This would probably grade in the 1.5-2 range, and if it is graded I would think that it would sell between $700-$900 on the bay.

Good luck. This is a sweet card!

I agree with Rick, I think it's essential that you have psa or sgc grade it. I would be interested in it in either holder, as I'm sure a lot of others would be, and I would probably use SGC instead of PSA for that card. There's not a lot of competition for PSA registry sets for that card, and either PSA or SGC would be respected. I would use SGC because of a better prewar following and IMHO a better looking holder for a card like that. I love the black insert, some people don't like it but I really prefer it for smaller cards like yours.

SGC has a $25 next day special and a $10 prewar special for cards under 500. That card is over 500 if it gets a number grade, and probably even with an "A".

Can't go wrong with either PSA or SGC but you would be going wrong and leaving money if you sell it raw.

I collect this set and the last Gehrig that sold on ebay a few months back was graded a psa 2mk with writing on the back and it brought between 650-700 if I remember correctly. Are you looking to get rid of this card?

I was thinking about $1200-1400 in an SGC10 or SGC20 slab slab, never heard back from the seller. I don't think he's ready to sell now, and it's a bad idea to sell it raw.
