Whats going on with these two coins...

Why the drop in price? In 10 months this coin lost more than 50% of its value?

Apparently, this happens all the time.

Perhaps the 2008 price was irrationally exuberant?


Seems like a heck of a way to spend 15 grand. But then, there are collectors who don't care about cash, cuz' they have plenty.

Location, Timing, Market. (Ohio seemed less popular than Baltimore, Spring versus Summer(?), possibly worse economy now than then or just a softer/correcting numismatic market)

All three would seem to have a decent affect on the value of this coin.

Still a nice coin though!

Anyone have any idea whats going on next to Liberty? To the right by the rim... It looks funky to me, but Im not sure what would have caused that...

Nothing stands out weird. Can you be more specific?

There looks to be some slight die erosion/die fatigue, and possibly a slightly rusted die, but I couldn't be certain about either.

Its right by Liberty's leg. Its a small 'stain' for lack of a better word./ Its silver around the edges and gold in the center. Its more showing on the first link...

Oh that, just looks like a weird toning spot to me.
