Finished my combined box of 20 today....

with this German 2 Mark! Not to say that some couldn't be replaced. I would replace a couple of the denominations/types that are represented more than once, but for the first time, I have 20 coins that are worthy (by my standards) of being included in the "A box" so to speak.

Still goals to achieve however of course. Subsets...Boxes of 20 for Darkside only...American only...

Just thought I would share this milestone!

the eagle on the reverse appears to have been flattened by a truck.
technically a lovely coin i just cannot get into it.

Congrats on a very nice set! Just wondering; but it’s a 1940-S PCGS MS67 WHAT???

A couple of coins make me very curious:

a) I assume if you have a 1938-D Buffalo nickel in MS66 it must have some spectacular attribute (probably toning) to be in your set, right?

b) Ditto for the VF35 1904 Barber half.

Not trying to be negative here, but poor old Friedrich looks like he’s been eating green jell-o (hope that’s not PVC!).

FC, interesting that you say that...the reverse eagle is one of my absolute favorite renditions! To each his own.
I've never been wild about "dudes" on my coins...but the coin is spectacular.

Cartwheel, The 38-D is nicely toned. The barber half is just how I like them....perfect cameo circ...again, not someone else's box of 20...but meet's my (weird) standards.

Cool, I thought I was the only one with a combined box of twenty. Glad to see I have company. My theme is basically post-1600, or milled coinage. I also have a pre-1600 hammered set going.

Nice choices (and great pics), BTW. The type 1 SLQ is my favorite.
