predictions for proof ASE,AGE, APE

Just wondered if any rumors are out there on when/if the the 2009 proof/unc ASEs, AGEs and APEs will be issued. Any thoughts if I should set up subscriptions, or order from the mint when they are available?

  • I suppose you know they are available from places such as APMEX? I'd buy there over the Mint anyday. Already have the 09's.

He's referring to the proofs and the burnished "W" mint-mark uncs, not the regular bullion coins.

My guess is they will wait until the last quarter of the year, and then there will be a mad rush to get them.

I bought 2009 gold eagles from apmex awhile back. Just bullion coins, not W mint or anything special.

I think it is funny in a curious sort of way that the Royal Canadian Mint, Australian Mint, etc have had no problem getting blanks for their '09 production. I think there is a little more to the story on the supposed unavailability of blanks than is being admitted by the Mint.
