I was just wondering what everyone does with their coins if they choose not to send them to a grading service. I dont' feel the need to send them to be graded until I will sell them, which wont be for a while. so how do you store your coins?

Not worth slabbing...not worth spending any money on at all.

Forgot to add: An OLD Leather Bank Satchell that I keep all my XF Morgans in (hope to see some toning someday).

<< <i>Dansco albums, 2x2 flips, 2.5x2.5 flips, Intercept Shield 2x2 holders, and paper envelopes -- I use them all >>
Ditto...plus I purchases some "self-slabs" that I can print my own labels, put the coins in there for safety, and show to friends/etc.
Haven't used them to sell any coins but I have used them to protect, store, and show some coins. Usually toned or ones that I know are of interest to someone.
Edited to add: I don't like the CW holders, btw. I did get some, a couple of years ago, mutli-holders...like the NGC ones, but the contact is no longer around so I can't get more
Those were great for year displays. The ones I have purchased now are similar to the older, smaller, anacs slabs. Multiple sources for those.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
The 2x2 cardboard seems so cheap looking to me, and the flips seem like the coins will fall out accidently.
Maybe I'll do flips with my more generic Silver dollars, and Airtites with my sets. Like my ike PR set, or VAM set i'm working on... Until i get them graded

<< <i>so how do you store your coins? >>
A few different ways....
Some of them are in Dansco albums (mostly pocket change and a 7070).
Others are in 2x2s (most of the other inexpensive coins).
The rest are in Airtites (the more expensive coins -- mostly large cents).
All unslabbed coins need to be melted... because if they're not in a holder then there must be something wrong with them... right?
(yeah, I know...it isn't cool to laugh at my own joke...especially when it is a corny one)
anyway... I mainly keep them in Dansco's for my personal collection... and some in 2x2s (cardboard and plastic)
for sale coins that are raw mainly in the "traditional" 2x2 and some in flips... unless it's just 90% stuff...that goes into plastic bags...
I have a Big Problem with 2x2s and that is the STAPLE.
First thing I do when I get a 2x2 is:
0) Make sure I have a suitable airtite for the coin
1) Unbend and remove the staples prior to removing the coin.
1a) Alternatively cut the cellophane, extract the coin.
2) Staples BE GONE!
3) Throw out the staples.
4) Verify that the staples are gone.
5) Look around for more staples and dispose of them carefully.
6) All clear.
Hoard the keys.
edit: I chose "flips" as best response, but actually use most of the choices sometimes
Liberty: Parent of Science & Industry
2x2 for some of the individual coins.
other then bookshelf albums i use a lot of whitmen classic and dansco as well as a lot of folders for extras.
The name is LEE!

Classics: Flips
Interesting choice of words. Not to nitpick on your semantics, but are you implying that if my coins are not in slabs, then they are not graded? My coins are all graded - by myself. I rely on my own grading, which hasn't changed over the years with market conditions. Perhaps you meant to say "What do you do with your non slabbed coins?"
I use a combination of different holders, mostly the old Hudgeons E-Z Self Seal adhesive 2x2's. I have used these for many years, but since they were discontinued long ago, my supply is running low. I have been negotiating with Capital Plastics on a custom plastic holder, based upon their 'Caps Case' coin holders, but with custom color and labeling. Great holders, but kind of expensive when you buy 2000 of them. They provide protection, but can be easily opened for photography, weighing, measuring, etc..
<< <i>Somebody ought to make a magnetic 2x2 flip. >>
Would magnets effect the coin over time?

Or at least I want to. I keep spending my money on other things so I don't have enough left to buy more of these.
I also use these single coin holders for my "special" coins that are waiting to get into the year holders (I don't know the name of what I posted above so I call them year holders) This here is my first ever proof.
Until I can get more of the holders, I keep my collection in a variety of these small plastic flip cases, which are meant for storing trading cards (another hobby of mine) but also work for coins.
