1960 World Series Game 7 Ticket

I have a complete ticket from Game 7 of the 1960 World Series, one of my dad's very unlucky friends missed that game. It's in great condition, it laid inside the program for 45 years. It has two autographs in pen from Gino Cimoli and Don Hoak. Any idea what this would be worth?

No idea, but I bet it's worth a pretty penny. Can you scan it? I am sure someone on the board can give you an idea on the value.

    Welcome to the boards,

Sounds like a great piece of baseball history!

I'd have the sigs authenticated and the ticket graded.

To an avid nostalgic Pirate's fan, I'd say the signed ticket would be worth over a grand easily! .... perhaps much more depending on how high the ticket grades!

Would love to see a pic or two image

    Good luck,

This need to be slabbed immediately. Awesome, awesome piece. Welcome.

  • Ill get some pics uploaded, asap. Im guessing it would be better w/o the autographs. The sad thing is both my dad and grandfather worked at the Carlton House in Pgh and had access to all those great ball players of the 50's and 60's.
  • 1960 game 7 full tickets 4 total graded 2-4s 1-2 and 1 auth. 16 stubs graded highest 1-4. ticket would pay a premium if it was 5 or higher!

Sounds like a great piece. I am not a ticket collector, but rather an autograph collector, so take this for what it's worth. Someone will quickly correct me if they think it will hurt the value, but since it's already been autographed and is not bare, I would have it signed by Mazeroski as well in pen if it was mine. You can catch him at occasional card shows where you can do mail order signings if you are not able to attend in person.

i like that idea a lot. You can probably have him sign it for less than $50.

You could always purchase a signed Maz photo when hes about to cross home after the homerun, and have it framed and matted.

Would look beautiful with the right matte color

$7.78 for a ticket to Game 7 of the World Series. The theme from All in the Family keeps playing in my head.

Nice ticket. If those are creases, I would probably only grade it as "authentic" without a number grade. Similar to cards, creases on a ticket will significantly reduce the number grade.

  • I agree that you should get it slabbed, but not before you have Maz sign it. You already have the others on there so you might as well get the most important one. Very cool ticket, thanks for sharing.

What do you mean by "slabbed"?
  • Sorry about that. Graded or Authenticated by PSA= Slabbed. Just because you need that thing protected kind of like it was protected by the program it was kept in all those years. Getting it graded just gives you the confidence that is well preserved.

I'm not sure if your question about how you go about getting it graded or authenticated was answered. You would have to join PSA for a one or two year period and just go from there. Maybe someone here on the boards from the Phoenix area can help you send it in, I don't know. Good luck with whatever you decide, and update us if you send it in.

Musta been quite extenuating circumstances for a Pirates fan to miss a game such as that after purchasing the ticket. If I had a ticket for the seventh game of a Phillies World Series, I think only death would keep me away and even then, I'd still somehow try to make it - LOL.

Beautiful ticket and I agree with the comments - get it slabbed!

    Very nice ticket!

Game 7 is the one to have due to the walk off HR by Bill Mazeroski.

I don't put much faith in priceguides since the marketplace is the best way to price something.

If ya have it graded - there's some creasing that will affect the grade rendered IMO.

My guide is not new - but a stub will go for something like 350$ - a full ticket - 700$ range.

Keep in mind, if two guys want this on ebay - it's gonna go for more IMO.

I saw a 55 WS stub go for over 1400$ (priceguide would not support that kind of price) - I didn't think it would go that high but it did - it's the first and last WS ever won by the Dodgers while in NYC.

Not sure if the sigs help the value or not?

That's all I got - thanx for sharing.
